IMO, if you are getting a diesel you should spring for the 350-3500.
Dan has a good point here, you should check into the payload difference. If it is less than your truck, see if the dealer will put the 3500 overload spring pack in the deal and check that this diesel has the snow plow prep pkg. with the 6K torsion bars.
