Hit by lightening perhaps? The jacks would make a good target. You might want to jump the motors with 12V and make sure they turn.
The control box is widely available from internet sources, just order the wireless upgrade kit for the Happijacs. When I purchased my latest camper with wired controls, the wired control itself was lost. As a separate part, that cost nearly as much as the wireless upgrade kit which includes the control box and the wireless control.
