Inflated hopes for EV P/U

I wouldn't mind having the new Ford EV truck for around town or trips of a couple of hours at the most. That said I would keep the F-350 strictly for towing. I think EV'S have a niche for commuter/errand/delevery vehicles.

90% of trucks are used to pick up groceries and kids. A contractor grabs materials for the crew. A guy might tow his boat 30 miles to a lake. Take a load of trash to the dump. EV trucks are here to stay, no matter what you want or think. Towing 15,000 pounds is waaaaay down that list.

Depends upon the camp ground you are at! Many I have been to, electricity is a no go, nearest water spigot can be a site or two down the lane.....assuming a national forest or state out in the boonies. So dry camping it is.
Local ski area I went too, again, NOT electricity, running water or sewer. So you show up with a full water, LP and a generator to charge house batteries during the 3+ days i was usually up their.....

But with all said and done, EV's are probably not fully capable for towing at this moment in human history. Next year or decade I reserve the right to change opinion, and say EV rigs can tow reasonably well etc.

60 miles seems short unless that is worst case scenario. 24 hr charge might be right for L2 if you happen to arrive perfectly empty and must have full 100% before you go again. 120v is a joke at this level.

While the tow rating is substantial I agree it may not be practical for very many people.

Still try to imagine getting 60 to 80 MPG on this large vehicle that should be able to run a mid 12 second 1/4 mile while you commute, out to dinner, Home Depot, stop for groceries and the rest. Going to be a compelling vehicle for many people. I mean trade that Prius econobox in already.
