Just a new RV person, and my experience on fuel economy. Have a Ram 3500 with Cummins and 68 transmission. Nexen tires at near maximum air pressure recommended. Dually with bed cover. Rear end is 3.73. Running unloaded for 2 days at 65 MPH (around 1700 - 1800 RPM), averaged 21.5 - 23 MPG, as calculated by hand over a 1500 mile trip. Used the speed control whenever possible.
Of course many other factors influence MPG - terrain, temperature, quality of roads, etc.
Thanks!
