Installed an Electronic Sway Control

I installed a Tuson Electronic Sway control today. I put it on Sunny Brook 279RB. The installation when very well. I had to separate the right and left brake circuits and run power, ground and brake signal to the module.

I haven't pulled my trailer with the sway control yet, but I did get a chance to pull Tuson's test trailer with my TV, a 2014 RAM 2500 quad cab 6.4L FWD LB. The test trailer was 9000lb construction trailer with an automobile loaded incorrectly to reduce the tongue weight.

The testing started with the sway control module disconnected. I accelerated to 50mph and started to whip the steering wheel from 9:00 to 3:00. The trailer swayed violently and the truck went into sway control with isometric braking and throttle control drop.

The second test the controller was activated and the same test was performed. At 50 mph the Tuson when into sway control activating the left and right brakes. The control of the vehicle was possible in one lane of the road.

To summarize the Tuson sway controller it does what you would do in an emergency automatically and at lighting fast speed. If you had the mind to reach down and override your brake controlled and brake in a sway event your sway would be reduced, but not eliminated. The Tuson controller does this perfectly and decides which wheel to activate and for how long. The swaying trailer is controlled in very short distance. The truck never went into sway control.

The Tuson Sway controller is the most revolutionary safety devices developed in a long time. No large tongue type trailer should be without one.
