Used these and, yes, I did have to do some rewiring including removing the ballast - the instructions are on their web site here. There does not seem to be a standard interface for a 12" LED lights from what I could find. I swapped mine out last year and things may have changed, however.

I replaced the exterior lights on my camper with something like these that came with an assortment of bases. My florescents required a little rewiring as the LED replacements needed to bypass the ballast.

By replacing the 32 ceiling halogens which drew 34 amps with LED... 4 amps and 120 degrees.

Bummer my porch lights (3) have wedge-style bulbs so will have to figure out buying another set of bulbs, or converting the socket.
Now I have bugs in my attic that make it up to each light fixture.
Brought them from Minnesota and was hoping the CA sun will kill them, but this is 3rd summer in CA and I am still finding the mess.
Have never seen live ones, but they are like 3/4" long dark flying bugs with hard wings. Anybody familiar how to deal with creatures?

I was able to use all the same inside but used a flat brought white for porch light. Does a great job out there. Clearance lights and tail lights next, maybe, well probably,just later. My sister just did her TT and it cost them a bundle as its a 2015 and had much different base than ours. They paid dearly as they had 19 to change out but are happy with the results. Internet lest expensive and some Walmart super stores even stock them now,just not cheap.

There's two main styles of bulbs:

1141/1156 bayonet base
921/912/906 Wedge Base

The owner of LED Trailer Lights is a truck camper owner - AF811 I think.

I bought LEDs from them back in 2009 when I originally upgraded and have ordered a few more on occasion.

1141 warm white

906, 912, 921

AS far as I can tell there is no difference between interior and exterior bulbs , if that is your question . Mine are the B15 sockets and I replaced the interior bulbs and the exterior porch light bulb so far .

For me, I've read too many horror stories about cheap LEDs melting and catching fire, and I also wanted warm whites. In any case, it should be a one time investment.

Same here i bought some good ones for 10 bucks a piece warm white 405 lumens.They also have a wide voltage range i think 9-30 volts so surges aint gonna hurt from when the battery is recharging.

my uncle was braggin about how cheap he got his for on last trip but when he saw mine he said mine were way brighter and a couple of his had burned out LEDs that he "forgot to mention"
