Installed new awning .

My awning bit the dust the end of last season , it delaminated and with a good wind the top layer went . So I ordered a new awning from tough top awnings . I liked the idea of it being all 1 piece , not laminated . I have never replaced one before , So I watched their video on you tube . Well with me and a buddy It was a piece of cake . It took a bit over an hour with basic tools .
  • Nice!
This job is on my to-do list this spring.
I replaced it a couple of years ago with a cheap fleabay $120 part and it's so thin the sun comes right through.
So you did it with just two people? We needed three; two to hold the legs and move the awning and one to guide it into the rail so it didn't snag.
Nice having a brand new awning. You don't have to clean it for at least a year!
  • Timely post. Others have recommended them, too. We are looking for an awning.

    Vinyl vs Acrylic and weight.

What did you get and weight?

I got the 18 oz vinyl . It is well sewn , looks nice , I got the light brown , matches the brown accents on the trailer . Since my old one was the laminated and it came apart after 4 years , I figured a non laminated was the way to go . Plus when I called the guy , I was talking to the owner . I got it in less than a week .
