I have had State Farm for a long time. When I got the truck I added it as another vehicle as I do with all new cars overs the years. For the camper the agent looked into it and it was added to my truck policy for an extra $50 per 6 months. I was told it is the same coverage as a vehicle, in other words for theft of collision it would cover the current value of the camper with the same deductibles.
I hope that I wasn't misinformed. I have an updated bill saying the camper was added to the truck vehicle policy so it looks good.
So I don't understand people saying State Farm covers the camper at no extra cost. The answer I got is that it is and added cost to the vehicle policy which I think may be called an extra endorsement.
Nobody ever told me that the camper is not be insured when it is not on the truck. But then if it is covered by the home policy that is ok, although there it sound familiar there are limits to the amount that these extras (for example, jewelry) are covered by a home policy.
