insurance?

I have mine through my State Farm Agent. When towing you are coverd by the tow vehicles insurance. But, I do have coverage for the rest of the time. On my 20 year old TT I'm not sure it worth it. They charge you by what the cost of the TT was new. But, if there was ever a problem they would only pay the book value; which on mine is not much.

We used the same company that carries our house and cars, and we insure it all year.

The main reason for this is a liability umbrella rider we have. It only covers things that are insured with that company, and there is plenty of liability potential on an RV.

My $200 a year policy covers it year-round (off-season that would be trees falling on it or hail or whatever) and it also covers theft of contents.

Good Sam has a partial year policy and from what I remember during the "Off Time" it just has basic storage coverage, which protects you from weather events and stuff like that. So it's still insured, just not as much.

I added the TT to the auto policy, and recently switched over our homeowner to the same company to get a better deal. I never really thought about only insuring the TT for the 6 months a year I use it. I'm not sure it would save me much to take it off during the winter, and like someone said, what if the TT got damaged during the winter?

Have ours through AAA auto. Its $99 a year for $12,000 coverage. Never had a claim so really don't know how good they are.

What if a tree falls on it in the winter? Or it gets vandalized?

We used Progressive and got ours insured for $200 for the year. (It would have been only $175 but my husband had a recent ticket.)
My state (Montana) does not require TTs to be insured but it really gives us a peace of mind.
Oh, here's some wisdom I heard: Don't insure your TT with your car's insurance. If you have a claim with your TT, they may raise the rate on your car's insurance as well.

I have home/auto with State Farm and added RV (Trailer) a few years ago.
~ $150 for 12 months. Includes comprehensive/liability while in my back-yard, while it is being towed and while in the campground. I think my deductible is $500 - I've had one claim on damage while being towed - ins. co. came through
with no issues
