It will be interesting to see the back tracking that will take place when the LTs in trailer service start failing.
The number of TT tire failures is relatively small and virtual all TTs come with STs. If the percentage of LTs grows to any significant amount, I suspect the results will be the same.
Time will tell.
Heh, heh. Yeah, you just keep waiting for that my friend ! My trailers run LT. My two heaviest trailers ( 33' gooseneck, four horse slant, with front living qtrs, and 24' equipment flat deck ) routinely get loaded to 11K to 14K pounds. I don't baby them, for instance, if I am needing to transport horses a long way in a day, the goal is to get the horses there, and off the trailer in shorter period of time. Let's just say, "I don't drive 55". And these trailers often have to be spun around in tight confined spaces, where I literally drag them around in a circle. Loaded.
Last year I took the LT's off the horse trailer because they were getting weather checked ( 8 or so years old ). None of them had failed. In spite of me beating on them, they had not failed.
So yeah....you just keep on waiting for the back-tracking as you put it !
Safe travels to you sir !
