Well for the sake of our nation (USA) I hope they find a answer soon as they aren't serving us to good as of now. Geeze with the new 2014 makeover and they aren't even mentioned in the top ten in several reports :H No wonder why certain posters are missing in action right about now :W
I admit I am not a GM fan, but I would like to understand more about why they are not selling like hot cakes. Is it looks? Price? Out done by the competition? What gives?
You're right, it's like crickets from the GM drum beaters. What gives?
These trucks are selling. GM carried over the base price from 2013 to 2014 at start of production. They now believe that they can raise the price. Ford extended their 2013 production, so that there was no comparison between 2014 GM trucks and 2014 Ford trucks. Also, they could continue to offer huge rebates and discounts to compete and claim it is because they are clearing out 2013s.
As noted in some articles, there are buyers that have traditionally used the rebate money as down payment money to meet financing. (We do not need to have another discussion on merits or lack of merits to financing a vehicle.) This allows these buyers to now buy GM, instead of a F150 that has enough rebates to equal a 20% down payment.
So, what do you expect the GM drum beaters to do? These are the quietest pickups on the road. The V8 achieves better fuel economy than the Ecoboost. Many organizations have rated this the top truck.
I logged over 11k miles in a V6 double cab. This was the best half-ton truck I ever had.
Maybe the GM drum beaters should start questioning why Ford does not have a 2014? Maybe they should question the huge rebates that Ford is giving?
Ford does have a 2014. Build guides and pricing have been out for a while now. Production starts in 1 week.
Considering the success that Ford has had and market share gains they've enjoyed, the GM drum beaters can rest well knowing Ford is doing just fine.
