The costs of owning and maintaining vehicles in the UK is a lot higher than the US. Most people likely can't afford to have separate work and play trucks. The people that do have vehicles generally drive compact cars.
No not at all. The "Truck" is the cab chassis version of the European Ford Transit - SteelhogExplorerThe "hook loader" concept has been around for a long time. Maybe the next extreme TC could be built on the pallet used on the HEMTT!

I don't get it. Why do they take the camper off? Do they have some other attachment?

Most likely like a truck dropps it's trailer, so that camp can be set up, and you can run around in the truck! ;-)

- billtexExplorer IIThere was a similar concept back in the 60's here in the States. I'll have to look in my old old TC book for the Mfr.
Pretty cool... - bka0721Explorer IIThis gives another use for all those construction dumpster company trucks, after they are done delivering and picking up those large steel dumpsters. This is the same hydrualics used in this field.

Nice find. This certainly stretches the "what's possible" envelope for TC's. And it is a TC as it's removable. A roll-off? Cool.
Bopp: a very few, from my experience will not allow camper dismount at camp. Many on this forum habitually remove the white box from the white truck at camp. There was a case where a TC on jax in a campground collapsed on a small kid and killed him. This, I'm sure was negligence on the part of the TC owner. Most on here lower their TC to lowest level the jax will allow thus reducing the possibility of roll over.
regards, as always, jefe - DWeikertExplorer IIWhat I'm curious about is, how many trucks are configured to make use of that loading scheme? Is it a Euro thing?
- gboppExplorerIt is interesting. I don't own a TC but, it is my understanding that many campgrounds don't allow you to remove the TC from your truck.
If that's the case I doubt it would very popular in the US.
But, I've been wrong before....a few times.
