Not there yet. Not even close. Would need 300+ kWh battery and recharge time will be an hour minimum.
May never quite equal liquid fuel for what you want because you do not carry both sides of the chemistry with gas/diesel. To burn and pollute the air is still free. Your engine pulls in almost 15x the weight of air as compared to the fuel you burn.
