Interesting truck tests, Ford vs Ram

http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2013/10/the-king-of-beasts-tow-test-is-live.html

Wow, Ram is more powerful, and has a much better exhaust brake.

But this one really opens your eyes. Ram has a much stronger frame.

It will be interesting to see the new Chevy in the tests when they release them.

  • I suppose if someone were looking for a truck to go rock crawling lifting wheels off the ground that would have some meaning.
Just like most all the other one-upmanship test they do that have very little practical real world meaning, no matter what the brands.

The frame/suspension/motor/powertrain on the 2015 GM HD will all be carryover from the current 2011-2014 LML platform. Really just a new body/interior on the same truck. Performance should for the most part be equivalent. Not that that is a bad thing. It has proven to hold its own against the comp.

THe GM re-design will drive sales for the next couple of years before I suspect GM to release any significant powertrain updates.
