CA and other states have endorsements on their license for RV's over a certain weight or length while others have no additional requirements or testing. It can get a little stupid if the state starts looking at it a revenue generator instead of a safety tool. I have endorsements for motorcycles, side cars and trikes - At one time the motorcycle endorsement was broken up into three engine size classes and awarded based on the motorcycle used to pass the skills test...
We travel many windy and twisty mountain roads. I cannot explain why I see so many accidents and break downs but am glad that I have not been involved in them. I feel there are things you can do in life to minimize risk without minimizing living. I've been a skier and motorcyclist all my life and the worst injury I have had is stitches. When engaging in activities, I also am aware of my surroundings to prevent harm to others. I can only hope I can continue on with my pursuits until they no longer interest me rather than being forced to stop.
