Just because someone doesn't ever see them...does it mean they don't happen...
Just because someone did see one, two or more...does it mean it will happen to everyone...
Just because someone didn't read about, does it mean they don't happen...
Just because I used to read the Calif Highway Patrol magazine and the gore
posted in them, does it mean everyone out there likewise read them...
Driver competence's bell curve has at one end...idiots who should not breed to
the middle of that herd to excellence on the other end
Coming back from Boise, between the Oregon border and Winnemucca...it
got windy. The 'puffs' were blowing me around. So slowed down from about
80MPH down to 65MPH...then one big puff blew me over one lane and
I was holding the steering wheel TIGHT on my K5 Blazer. Lucky there
was no vehicle on that side of the center line...
Pulled over and put it into 4x4 to drive WAY off the shoulder. Spent
the night there in the K5 (wasn't towing anything that time). Woke
up the next morning to see several on their side.
Ditto one time on the Calif/Oregon border. The Highway Patrol was
stopping traffic and forcing everyone to pull over. Up ahead were
several semi's on their side...
It happens...even to well setup to the REAL ratings and with good
drivers...
