I really think whether lifting the wheels off the ground with the stabilizing jacks is a good or bad idea really depends on the trailer and the jacks. My trailer loaded doesn't weigh over 5000# and the jacks are rated at 5000# each. The frame is 6" steel. Winnebago builds them strong. Several times when leveling the trailer with the jacks I have noticed that 2 wheels on one side were off the ground. There is no indication from the way the door fits that any twisting is going on. Yeah I know that you are not supposed to level a trailer using these jacks but it works just fine for me.
