It does depend on what you want to run. If you want to run very small appliances or charge a device or two, they work fine on a 12V plug.
If you want to run the whole TC, you need to put it where you can plug the TC in. Some people mount them inside the TC. You can follow the path you took for the solar connection and put it somewhere in the path. Again, though, you have to think about how to plug your devices in.
Of course, you also have to turn off the battery charger when you do that and probably should turn off the refrigerator as well.
