Much of what you say is true. But camping means different things to different people. If you had grandchildren, you would know they like their movies, etc!
As to going to a motel because it's cheaper; no thanks. We've had our share of filthy, over-priced motel rooms. The RV is an extension of your home. You know if it's clean or dirty.
