The brand of hitch has nothing to do with the way any WD hitch works. there is a reason every WD hitch manuf. offers different size bars. If it was OK to use a 1400lb hitch on a 600lb tongue weight trailer then they would say it was OK. Too heavy a bar could unload the rear axle when encountering a dip in the road, which would create a handling nightmare!
Go with the proper size hitch for your loaded tongue weight!
