Is it ok to drive with the bed mat and no tailgate?

I would probably just roll it up and put in the back seat or leave it at home if you are worried about it. I don't think mine would come out because it is heavy stiff and fits tight between the wheel wells.

I don't think the tailgate keeps it in.
