the Escape is NOT an SUV, it's a CUV(compact utility vehicle), just like the Rav4 and Honda CRV.
#1 newbie mistake is listening to a dealer. all they want to do is sell you something. they don't care after you leave the lot with it.
and the Escape is not designed with towing in mind. it's unibody, short wheelbase, front wheel drive and geared for gas mileage not towing.
these are all negatives for being a good tow vehicle.
most any TT will have too much tongue weight for the Excape.
only really light/small trailers, like the Scamp or Casita will work, if you want a travel trailer.
and the v-shape of the Vibe does very little to lessen the air resistance.
