Note that the Ford Escape is rated at only 30 sq. ft. of frontal area, assuming you have the V6 (it's only 24 sq. ft. otherwise). That's only about 7' across by 4' tall, or in other words, a pop-up. Most travel trailers are at least double that.
I agree with the others: the Escape is nowhere near up to the task of pulling even a small travel trailer.
