If you really want to stick with your Escape, there are options out there - but will they fill all your needs? Only you can answer that question. Now with that in mind, there is a small RV company in Quebec (north of Montreal) called Prolite that make interesting, small ultralight RVs.

There is a model that may suit your needs, and is light enough for your Escape. I do not know if they have distributors in the USA. Dry weight of 1830#, TW of 180#.
