Ok question, regarding these Flying J places...can you go there if you're not a professional driver or RV driver? It looks like they cater to guys who drive trucks for a living. I think I might be scared there, being a single female, especially if I had to stop in the middle of the night, and shower, etc. Do they have seperate areas for women there?
get yourself a CB and when you get set up for the night, just go on the CB and describe yourself as a lot lizard and the boys will pay plenty of attention to you.
although they cater to drivers, some of which are women, they wouldn't be too shocked to have you request using a shower, might be a cost however.

Lordy,Lordy , nows there's an intelligent reply and sounds like it's coming from someone that has never even towed past a Flying J much less overnighted at one !!!
No, they DO NOT have Communal or locker room showers , the last one I stayed at in TX. had about 15-20 private shower rooms and each has it's own security door code lock that only you will have . Yes it will cost you BUT not in the obvious way Mr. Bumpy is insinuating .Think ,if I remember right they run about 10 bucks .
And as for the "" Lot Lizard "" remark you don't have to annouce or describe yourself to anyone ,,,,, RVer's and Tractor/Trailer drivers DON'T even park in the same section of the parking lot .
Yes you can also pull in with just a car or Pick-up OR an Escape and get you some sleep and use their facilities . they also have WI-FI,cost a couple of bucks , not much .
I don't know if a small genny would be allowed out in the open on the parkin' lot , probably only if ya had one enclosed like in a motor home etc. etc. BUT your battery would be fine for the 12 volt lights etc. , Maybe think about getting you a second 27 bank back-up when you really get set-up and into it .
The ones I been in are lit up good at night and most are open 24/7/365 days a year . They also have dump stations you can use on your way out IF you need to , think they charge around 8 bucks for that.
Most all of them are set-up pretty much the same way .
