The reason why I thought I understood everything I needed to know was because over the last 5 or 6 years while researching this information, I NEVER came across anyone who said the Escape wouldn't work. I've seen LOTS of pictures of Escapes towing the size trailer I want, the Ford website said it could tow 3500 pounds, a lot of the RV's I saw said they could be towed by Escapes, and my friend who has towed trailers for about 4 years told me I'd have no problem either. I simply had no reason to doubt any of this.
I am leaning towards a Scamp, I can easily visit the factory on my way home from work next time, it's only about 100 miles out of my way.
