Research tow ratings. Understand what GVW,GVWR,hitch rating, tow sating,CCC,Axle rating.
Your Escape isn't very capable as a TV (tow vehicle) However there are small more capable vehicles.
Your dream can be realized but you need to go back to square one. At this point I admire your spirit, but you are lacking in knowledge and understanding.
I've been following this thread with great interest, and have even contributed a few posts myself. But I'd also like to make an observation, and you can take it for what it's worth. I mean no disrespect, but from reading your responses it seems to me you're only absorbing what you want to hear. I can hook up my trailer to a motorcycle and take a picture. Does that make it a good tow vehicle? Better yet, let's ask the guy selling the trailer what he thinks. He wouldn't stretch the truth, would he?
The fact that you don't understand GVWR, GCWR, frontal area, and a bunch of other important towing concepts further exacerbates the situation. Can you tow it? Of course. Will it be safe? Very questionable. Will it place undue stress on the vehicle? Most definitely.
There are many, many experienced RVers on this forum and most of them believe that proceeding with your plan would be a mistake. Many of us have made similar mistakes ourselves. Please understand the negative comments are just an effort from experienced folks trying to prevent you from doing the same.
It's very easy to cling to what you want to hear. But wanting something to turn out well doesn't mean it will.
