That isn't what you said. In your first quote above, you said you're trying to find trailer that weighs less than your Escape's GVWR. You reiterated that in your second quote, but that's not how it works. Don't confuse pulling with carrying. Both are important.
No, lol...I wasn't going by the Escape's GVWR, I hadn't even seen that until about a week ago. For the last like 6 years, I have been trying to find a trailer with a GVWR lower than what my Escape can TOW. So I was looking at the trailers' GVWR, not my Escape's. And as for carrying vs towing, I guess I don't understand the difference, carrying is how much weight is IN the Escape, and towing is how much is BEHIND it, but in the end isn't it all still getting pulled/towed/carried by the tow vehicle?
It doesn't matter if 100 people told you that, it's still not how it works.
Maybe not, but you can't blame me for only knowing what I have heard. 100 people is a lot! lol I tend to believe things after I hear it from 2 or more people, generally. Unless those people know each other.
If you want to create a lifestyle centered around RVing, I suggest that saying "there are just too many things to remember" is the wrong way to approach it. There really isn't that much to remember. A great many people understand these basic towing concepts. You can, too. Be smart. Learn. Absorb. Make informed decisions. And in a few years, you'll be the one helping others understand.
I'm not a very smart person LOL I got D's and F's in math. I have a horrible memory when it comes to a lot of numbers being thrown around in one paragraph. This seems about as complicated as rocket science to me. I was told many times (there I go listening to people again! lol) that the only numbers I needed to pay attention to was what the Escape could tow and what the trailer's GVWR is. Besides, once I got my set up working and this was happening, I wouldn't need to deal with the numbers anymore.
