LOL!! I am sorry but that made me laugh! It sounded like they were laughing in the video too, and those people didn't seem very concerned it was happening! It just looked funny how you don't see it then suddenly it's back and this time the trailer is in control! lol
The automatic transmissions in the smallish cars do not like that sort of work much and will not last very long. A manual shifter probably fares better; at least you can replace the clutch, which may wear out sooner. Anyway, an auto trans is pretty rare over here anyway in a passenger car.
Before I bought this Escape I had a Ranger that was a manual, and I was told manuals would be harder to tow with because of the jerking motion every time you shift, which made sense to me.
Have you personally pulled a trailer before? For me, it helped to make up my mind and get a truck camper instead, as I didn't like it much.
No I haven't, I have no way of doing it since my Escape doesn't have a towing package so I can't practice until I actually get that put on. I dont think I would like a truck camper (if I had a truck that could use one, that is), they don't have bathrooms.
