I think you should have plenty of truck for that TT. Just to be sure as you have used the Reese DC system many times - are you centering the detents on the WD bars over the CAM lobes when straight? In not centered, the two sides end of fighting each other (any you). On the same vehicle I have had my TT be scary unstable at 60mph or rock solid at 75mph just by adjusting the cam arm lengths. My TT also tows solid at 75mph with no WDH on a friend's 1-ton.
Alignment check or possibly a new WDH. I agree that fundementally TTs tend to tow with more stability in the 13-15% TW range vs. 10-11%. Your truck probably does not need 100% front axle restoration so that 1200 pound bars is fine. I have the Reese Strait Line trunion 1200 pound bar hitch. This is or 8th season with the same TT and WDH. I have to adjust the WDH every 1-2 years for some reason or another. Change tire size, new TV, bent cam arm I replaced, etc. Still no issues this past weekend at 75mph.
