Is National RV Detroit the Real Deal

I just discovered this RV dealer and prices seem almost too good to be true. Can anyone comment on their experience with this dealer. I'm out West and likely wouldn't make it to the dealer prior to purchase. We'd just order and have it shipped to our location.

Any inside info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

  • Good judgment....if you don't like the attitude of the salesman or the "feel" of the place, you're probably right.
  • National RV's owner has four other dealerships in Michigan and they do move a lot of units. You can't beat the number of trailers they have in stock on their lot.

I liked a TT we saw at a show and went to the dealership for a quote.

The sales guy was a bit annoying and the place felt a bit sleazy. I ended up driving a couple hours away to get the same unit for a slightly better price.
  • Curiosity got the best of me so I did a search for National RV. There is a website, but also found many BBB complaints listed. You might want to take some time to give those a good reading and see if they're apparently legitimate complaints or not.
  • And RVWholesalers + RVDirect. Both are very reputable dealers with lots of satisfied customers. They sell a ton of trailers and have lots of models. Both have experience crossing the border. Very competitive pricing.
  • A friend of mine almost bought a Heartland Big Horn through them. He still keeps in touch with a salesmen there on model changes. They also have floorspace at the MARVAC RV show twice a year in Metro Detroit. That's my only experience.

If you are considering an RV purchase from Michigan, also check out Lakeshore RV in Muskegon. They too have great prices on models they carry and experience with Canadian sales.
