Max weight it will tow? Okay you can spend what I have in my Cummins and build the 6.4 and you still won't beat my little 5.9.:B
6.4L Hemi would whoop that Dmax's booty. :B
Sure I would. At the end of the day, it's all about who's happy at the campground or back at the house. Even with my lowly 310hp 5.4L F250, we're happy both ways. Some people base reality on their flawed perception. A 400 ft/lb engine at 4k rpm and a 800 ft/lb engine at 2k rpm will be putting equal torque to the rear wheels at the same road speed all else being equal. The 4k rpm engine is only working half as hard letting gear ratios multiply torque to the drive shaft while the 2k rpm engine has to produce 400 ft/lbs of torque more to do the same job. The 4k rpm engine is working twice as fast but only half as hard. But to some, it "sounds" like it screaming or struggling when nothing could be further from the truth. But that's their perception. Why screaming at 2-3k rpm? Why not 1400rpm like a real truck? :B
I was not referring to how the engines are working or if you don't mind the noise or mine makes noise or not. I was quoting that you said that the 6.4 would whoop that D-maxes booty. So that seems like you say that the 6.4 will out work it, run it, and get better fuel mileage all at the same time. With very little work that D-max would spank that hemi in every way.
BTW, my 05 very seldom sees north of 1800 rpms with 18,000# hooked to it.My 13 does putt along at around 1400-1500and even when it does gear down rarely goes over 2000.;)
