ib516 you are correct, factory air suspension is available on both 1500 and HD trucks across manufactures but I'm still confused whether I need it or not. From what I've read, air bags help level the truck after the trailer is hitched. Honestly, I've been leaning towards having aftermarket air bags installed on the rear of whatever truck I decide upon. I'd inflate the airbags when I tow and deflate when I don't. The factory air suspension sounds super complicated, with built in compressors, nitrogen filled lines and issues with really cold weather. Frankly when...not if the air suspension fails it sounds like a nightmare to fix, especially after the truck is a few years old. Or...am I crazy?
