In my new F350 with the 6.7 I like to run the exhaust brake even when not towing. I find it helps in stop and go traffic and requires me to use less brakes. But is it OK to run it all the time? I mean...

If you rely on the onboard computer for your fuel mileage calculations it will show lower results. For some reason when I lift my foot of the throttle when going downhill without the EB on the computed mileage goes up significantly. As high as 54 mpg when going down a good hill in overdrive. When I do it with the EB on it hardly goes up at all.
