And used HALF its battery charge to go 65 miles! That was with slowing to 50MPH on an interstate with a 75MPH speed limit (Talk about getting run over), on the return leg, and they were certainly sweating the range anxiety. Is the campground 150 miles away, sorry you will need to plan a 2 hour stop in the middle of a 2.5 hour drive.
All done for dramatic effect obviously or TFL just dont like Tesla.
They shoulve charged 100% in the begining and tow at 65 as the law requires.
Also they passed TWO charging stations bc they had no adapter for those..
I dont know the cost of Electric for such tow but wager diesel would be quite a bit more, yes or no?
- I don't know CO law to know if they limit trailers to 65 or not.
- Compatibility at charging stations is another issue. I have never pulled a vehicle into a fuel station and had to worry about compatibility.
- Its not about the cost. If it were about the costs, I wold not but a 40K (or more) trailer, and a 60K truck to pull it. That said, I really would have liked to see the bill for the charge at the end (they shows to bill for initially top off the 'tank'. Also, if they wanted to do the test right, fill up the X, and an F150, hook them to identical trailers, drive the loop out and back, then take them back to the starting point and top them off. My guess, the F150 would cost a bit more to top off, but would be topped off an hour sooner.
