Is the EV transformation of the market over hyped ?

I would imagine if some of you had grown up 110 years ago you would have balked at the Model T. Electric cars can be faster, quieter, smoother and will be a better platform for the autonomous cars of the future. I'll buy one when I'm convinced it will be cheaper to own than a gas powered one. As far as saving the planet goes..... I think it's a bunch of BS.
