Just a few thoughts on this subject. Unless you get your truck tuned the performance muffler does very little to enhance performance.
My truck had a cherry bomb on when I bought it. It almost made me walk away from the truck. However it sounded great and most of time it was kinda cool. Except when towing. We sort of got used to it but it really grates on you after a 15 hour day towing. And mine was dumped behind the axle on the right side of the truck.
That said in late spring I discovered the back of the muffler rusted away. I replaced the entire system and went with a stock equivalent quiet muffler. Off the line performance is better and when towing my wife and I can talk to each other in a normal tone of voice. And as cool as the rumble was, I like it better without the noise.
