I own one of those ultra rare Toyota diesel pickups. 1984 vintage and it just ticked over 276,000 miles. Even came with AC and it was a 4x4. I put a turbo and intercooler on it about 120,000 miles ago and it's far from underpowered, but body and frame rot have forced me to park it until I put the engine in something else. If I could post pic, I'd show my one-time 7000 lb load of sod. No problem going down the road, but any sort of a panic stop definitely required the use of the trailer brakes.

My first pickup was an 81 Toyota Diesel. I used it for my lawn mowing business in highschool. It was awesome. I bought it for $700. We put in a timing belt and eventually new glow plugs. When it started in the cold, it would fill parking lots with white smoke. It was leaking oil pretty bad when we sold it to some guy that was going to take it to central America. Ah, great memories.
