Sorry that you were in a wreck, but also think about what you "possibly" did to contribute. If both the car behind you and a few cars back were trying to risky maneuvers to get around you, you might want to rethink how you are driving.
I know I'm going to get it for this one, but as someone who's been stuck behind a "speed limit" driver who's being "safe", I feel I have to point out what's obvious. If you are truly not in a hurry, also try pulling over from time to time to let others pass safely.
Come on Jim, there are speed limits set for a reason and they are enforced by law. Why should one pull over if they are doing the SPEED LIMIT, obey the law and slow down!! I hope the offender was cited and the OP sues the speeder to make himself whole again.
While I totally agree that the speed limit is the law the fact remains that if you drive outside of the average speed of others you're more likely to involved in an accident. It does NOT make it your fault but fault or not, wouldn't you rather not be in one?
My father-in-law repeatedly gets cars pulling out of side roads dangerously close in front of him because he insists on leaving an larger than normal following distance. It makes him more likely to be in a wreck, despite him doing the right thing. So right or not, you may well want to pull over frequently even if you don't have to. You cannot 'make' those behind you 'obey the law and slow down' so do your best to stay out of their wrecks.
And yes, sometimes there is simply nothing you could have done about it.
Been there, done that with the farm equipment too, Sidecar.
Best wishes to you Smith and hope they make you whole again.
