A question: I assume you went to a Ford store, sat down with a sales rep. and spec'd out what you wanted to buy. Is that how you made sure you got the 8200 lb gvw package? I have played around with the build n' price tool on Ford's website and have never seen payload options offered, only powertrain options. Even looking at local dealer inventories, there's nothing I see on the Monroney stickers that indicate towing/payload capabilities of the truck, either as built or as an option or special order.
Go back to the build and price. If you want a crew it must have 6.5 box. If you want a ext cab it must have 8' box. Now select the 3.73 with limited slip diff. On the next screen you will see the payload package is applied. My salesman had no idea what i was talking about so your best to kind of know what to ask for.
As a side note. You cannot bling out this pkg as you can with the others. Im ok with that
If you choose the eco boost you will also get the max tow as part of the pkg.
You can get the Lariat that is pretty well loaded with the 8,200 package. But they always have to be ordered. Locating a non work truck 8,200 package on the lot is unheard of.
