Jayco 228 or X213, Lance 2185
now considering these units but due to living in south florida i am worried about the heat and have a non-ducted system for keeping cool when we sleep. would love to get some input there.

The non ducted air will keep you cooler than the ducted. On a 35 ft Jayco I had, there was a short box running to the ducts in the front. I modified it to bypass the ducts and it kept the trailer much cooler.
If I had a choice, which you don't usually these days, I would get non ducted air.
