now considering these units but due to living in south florida i am worried about the heat and have a non-ducted system for keeping cool when we sleep. would love to get some input there.

Much prefer the ducted over the non. Our friends had a ROO 19, which came with non-ducted....if you were right by the vent, you were fine, but they had trouble getting it evenly distributed even in that size HTT. We had the 23SS with ducted and were always comfortable regardless of where we were. If you come in from a real scorcher of a day and want "instant" cool-down, just close the slide in the main vent to divert from the ducts to center blast....stand there for a couple minutes and you'll be darned near cold. Our TT has the ducted and we're very happy with it. You can close off vents, turn them, partially close, put it on center blast, whatever you want. You don't have that option with the non ducted.
