Jayco X213 rear slide
I have to give Jayco some props for the customer service they have done with our 2011 X213.
Starting in the first year of ownership, we had issues with the rear slide stopping before it was completely out. We took it to the dealer that fall, they lubed it and said it was working fine. Of course we took it out later that fall and it did the same thing. The next summer it would periodically do the same thing, stopping short of finishing its full extension. Took it back to the dealer, they adjusted it, lubed it, said it was working fine when it left. Notsomuch. Meanwhile the warranty ran out and my wife and I had figured out a way to get it to fully extend like it did the first 4 months when it was new. So this summer I was in the dealership to replace a set of blinds that got damaged and mentioned it off the cuff once again. This time our dealer contacted Jayco, told me to bring it in (we had a 2-week window between camping trips), they not only got it diagnosed but replaced the motor with one that made it fly this last weekend. AND covered it as "goodwill warranty" since we had tried to get it fixed prior.
Mind you this is not a trailer that gets used a couple of times a year. We average 30 nights a year and 5,000+ miles/season. But from my investigation it appears that Jayco changed the slide motor in the 2012s and 2013s, going to a completely different manufacturer for the '13s. All I know is that the new motor in ours has POWER and makes that huge slide go like it seems that it should have when new.
And THAT'S why I like my Jayco. And thanks to Steve & Chris & company at Hubert Trailer Sales in Oregon, WI for getting this done timely and on schedule as I requested. These guys know their Jayco trailers in and out!
