Use the small cans of compressed air for cleaning computers. The heads can get dust on them and then they don't read the disc. Open the door without a disc in and spray them or it well. If that doesn't do it I have opened them up and used a Q tip with rubbing alcohol to clean the pickup head. Always fixes mine that is in my shop.
