Those F150 ecobeasts are fun trucks to drive. I've been debating on getting one as a daily driver. While great for what they're meant for, light duty towing and hauling of boats, smaller travel trailers etc, they are NOT in the same league as the F250/350 trucks when it comes to towing the heavier loads comfortably.
Towing 10k lbs isn't just about whether the engine can pull the load, which the Ecoboost can with ease, it's how the truck feels when pulling the load through adverse conditions like severe side winds, uneven frost heaves, concrete expansion joints, and obstacle avoidance maneuvers.
That's where the larger trucks shine, towing comfortably at the higher weights.
I thinks it's great you love the F150.
