I thinks it's great you love the F150.
Let's just keep it real.
In the interest of keeping it real, The F150 is fully capable of towing right up to its manufacturer ratings without exceeding any. Just like any other vehicle.
I agree with what Trouble said. The Ecoboost is a awesome truck and if I were in the market for a half ton I think this would be it. The heavy duty Eco package has about the same payload capacity as my 3/4 diesel (which is #2466 according to my door sticker). But we know the HD's are more capable that what it says on paper plus my HD weigh's 2000-2500# more than the 1/2 ton and that's going to be able to "man handle" the trailer better in my opinion.
I'm just basing this off of what I think is common sense in that a heavier truck is simply going to handle a trailer better, plus why build a 3/4 ton if the heavy duty 1/2 can do the same job? The Ecoboost is a beast I'm sure but there is a reason they do not put them in the Superdutys I'm sure as well. I pull trailers a LOT between my construction trailers and our fifth wheel and long term I would not want to do that with a half ton no matter what the on paper ratings are.
Now, with that being said I never owned or driven and Ecoboost F 150 and if I did with a trailer behind it I may change my mind about it's capabilites and maybe it's better than I give it credit for.
