I don't think I'd be so quick to dismiss the rear coils as wimpy.
There's plenty of photos of them loaded heavy with very little sag on the web.
The red megacab in this article has a huge load of wood, and the white crew cab one has a pallet of cinder blocks. Both are 2500s so both have coils.
