I had a 1961 or 62 2500 GMC with coil springs. It sucked big time carrying the 8 ft Bell camper. The wind would move it left and right quickly and was tough to drive. Going to the 2500 ford with leaf springs fixed the problem. Just sitting at the table eating lunch the camper leaned to the table side a lot.
Maybe time had fixed this problem.
