Having a 2014,2500 Laramie on order. I have been trying to get up to speed on the new suspension. I have read the sheet that comes In the glove box and it states how to load the weight in the bed, but does not state anywhere about "slide in campers not recommended" . Anything new generates alot of speculation heard that when I bought the new Duramax when it came out in 01. Aluminum heads would melt well that never happened , then it was common rail would be an issue.
When I bought my 2010 dodge 3500.
Everybody said dodge would be out of business. They have had alot of time to work on this system (prior to Fiat) with the 1500's The 2500 system 'is a very robust system. I can't imagine Dodge would risk losing the 3/4 ton market on a bad design . Having said that I can see aftermarket manufacturers working hard on a air bag system. Which is why I didn't go for the OEM air suspension , I don't want to depend on the air bags alone. Thats why i plan installing airbags as i have on all my previous trucks.
Really liked my 3500 before a drunk driver totaled it. But would like a better ride empty, and still have the HD capability . I tow a 12,000 lb fifth wheel on occasion so I am interested to hear reviews from those who are have had experience with this system and 5th wheel towing ..
