Honda is probably the smartest of the manufacturers. They realize that the average buyer of a "half ton" truck tows nothing heavier than a lawn mower or possibly a ski or fishing boat. Only about 10% of them tow anything really heavy like a midsized travel trailer. Honda has chosen not to get into the competition for that 10% of the market. They build a grocery getter that has very limited towing capability and are a viable option for those grocery store trips. Certainly as much an option as any of the mid sized trucks like Dakota, colorado, ranger, Frontier or Tacoma.
